New England in the Fall

I have always wanted to see New England in the Fall, but somehow never found the time or the money or the energy or something. But it dawned on me that if I was ever going to do it, I'd better DO IT instead of just wanting to do it. I enquired about when the best part of the autumn would be, and was told, second week in October. So that's when I went.

But there had been an unexpected warm spell a couple of weeks ago, I guess, and the leaves were not at their prime yet. Oh, well. There were still many, many beautiful places.

I am not going to try to say exactly where these shots were taken. I don't remember, for one thing, and it doesn't matter anyway, for another.

This last photo is of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the eastern part of the US.
